project summary
King Power Mahanakhon, one of Bangkok’s most iconic landmarks, sought to transform its back-of-house office into a revitalising space for the team responsible for maintaining the building’s excellence. The goal was to turn an outdated and dimly lit area into a workplace that energizes, inspires, and supports the wellbeing of its employees. More than just a renovation, the project focused on creating an environment where staff can recharge, connect, and feel valued for their behind-the-scenes contributions.

the challenge
The existing space was in an old building, with low natural light and a dated atmosphere that lacked warmth and vitality. The challenge lay in breathing new life into this space within a tightly controlled construction budget, without compromising on aesthetics or function. The design needed to strike a balance between cost efficiency and visual appeal, while also creating a flexible environment that caters to the diverse needs of the team.

the solution
Inspired by the orbit of celestial bodies, the design concept embraced the metaphor of employees as stars—individually unique yet collectively lighting up the organization. The design supports this idea through flowing lines, and ambient lighting that evokes a sense of calm and inspiration. Multi-purpose zones were introduced, including social lounges, casual meeting spots, and recreational areas where employees can relax, recharge, and reconnect. This thoughtful transformation turns the office into a space that restores energy and reinforces the value of every team member working behind the scenes at King Power Mahanakhon.
