How Paperspace Asia Turns Offices into Talent Magnets

4 August 2025

In Southeast Asia’s competitive market, the talent war hasn’t paused for the economy. Even as businesses face hiring slowdowns or budget constraints, top talent continues to seek organisations that align with their values and offer purpose-driven, people-centric environments. Companies that delay investment in culture, experience, and workplace design risk losing not just talent, but momentum, innovation, and future growth. Inaction comes at a cost—and in this climate, that cost is high.

Reimagining Offices: Turning Workspace into Talent Attraction and Retention Magnets

Top talent in the region requires more than simply an office to work in and a competitive salary — they demand workspaces that empower their personal development while prioritising wellbeing. A workplace designed to instil a sense of purpose and support in employees is a powerful advantage in the battle for talent attraction and retention. On the flipside, the cost of not investing in your office space goes beyond financial statements — it affects your ability to attract, retain, and build a culture that inspires your people.

So how does an office get transformed into a talent magnet? A well-designed workspace does more than simply look good. For instance, when office design includes quiet zones for deep focus, open hubs for teamwork, and wellness amenities that promote balance, it gives people more than just a place to work – it gives them a sense of purpose. This enforces a sense of belonging by empowering employees to do their best in environments that support their goals.

This combination of purpose and support is critical for talent attraction and retention. To stand out from the competition, businesses need to look beyond perks and monetary compensation, and the answer lies in well-designed workspaces.

How Paperspace Co-Creates Purposeful Workplaces That Retain Talent

At Paperspace Asia, we believe purpose is best designed together with our clients. Our co-creation design approach brings leadership, employees, and workplace strategists into one aligned process, guided by both human input and data-driven insights. Using tools like employee surveys, occupancy data, and our Workplace DNA assessment, we gain a deep understanding of how teams move, collaborate, and thrive.

When people feel heard and decisions are backed by evidence, the outcome is a workplace that genuinely reflects the organisation’s identity. At a deeper level, this process of workspace co-creation develops a culture of open dialogue, where our clients engage directly with their employees to continue to improve their workspaces — all with the goal of creating a workplace that evolves with its people and supports their best work. When employees feel involved and empowered in shaping their environment, they’re more likely to stay, grow, and thrive — making your workplace a powerful driver for both talent attraction and long-term retention.

In Southeast Asia’s diverse and fast-evolving landscape, our thoughtful blend of empathy and insight  has been proven to enable companies to not only attract top talent – but retain them through environments that truly work for their people.

Kasame & Associates: A Legal Workplace Reinvented for Talent Attraction and Retention

Kasame & Associates partnered with Paperspace Asia to transform their Bangkok office into a modern, collaborative workspace – supporting long-term talent attraction and retention for the next generation of legal professionals.

The design was aimed at improving overall employee wellbeing by incorporating more natural light into the office, sparking inspiration and promoting clearer, more focused work. To empower employees with a space that truly supports their needs, our team conducted time utilisation studies. This revealed that while private offices were essential for confidential legal work, staff also needed open areas to foster teamwork. By introducing open workstations that could be converted into private zones using glass partitions, the space now supports both focused and collaborative work – within the same spatial area.

Drawing on human input and data-driven insights, the co-creation process ensured alignment with Kasame & Associates’ cultural and functional needs. This qualitative and quantitative methodology not only refreshed the visual identity of the office but also reinforced a sense of belonging and purpose. The result: stronger internal collaboration, improved morale, and ultimately, a workplace environment optimised for talent attraction and retention in a competitive legal market.
