project summary

AboitizFoods, AboitizLand, and Aboitiz InfraCapital – Economic Estates came together to establish a unified workplace at Ayala Tower One, bringing three business units under a single roof.

The objective was to create a purpose-driven environment that reflects the Aboitiz Group’s culture of collaboration, innovation, and sustainability — while balancing shared experiences with the distinct identity of each business unit. The workplace was envisioned to support both connection and focus, aligning spatial planning with long-term organisational goals.

the challenge

The project required consolidating multiple dynamic entities into a single, high-performing workspace while maintaining operational clarity and identity.

The design needed to align with building density requirements while ensuring the environment remained efficient, comfortable, and adaptable. At the same time, the workplace had to accommodate a range of nonnegotiable requirements, including dedicated executive offices, internal executive facilities, multiple reception areas, and individual pantries for each business unit.

Beyond spatial planning, the challenge was to create an environment that supports both collaboration and focus. This meant identifying opportunities for shared spaces, such as a townhall area, while ensuring day-today workflows remained uninterrupted.

The result required a careful balance between density, functionality, and user experience.

the solution

Anchored on the concept “Harmony of Purpose,” the design brings together the three business units into a cohesive yet clearly defined workplace.

  • Free-flowing layout enables natural movement and interaction while maintaining clear zoning across the space
  • Open yet focused workstations with low-to-mid partitions support both collaboration and individual work
  • Integrated work settings including built-in phone booths, collaboration zones, and repositioned meeting pods support hybrid work and flexible use
  • Leadership and operational spaces feature dedicated executive offices, shared leadership areas, internal facilities with shower provisions, and a separate locker area to maintain organization

Shared and social spaces strengthen connection across teams:

  • Multi-functional townhall area allows the space to flex between daily use and larger gatherings
  • Pantries per business unit reinforce identity while contributing to a shared workplace experience

The arrival experience is designed to leave a strong impression:

  • Distinct reception and lounge areas for each business unit
  • Integrated LED walls to enhance brand presence

Operational efficiency is supported through a centrally located reprographic area, serving all business units while reducing duplication.

Delivered in close collaboration with Ragojos Heritage Construction and key Aboitiz stakeholders, the project translates complex requirements into a workplace that is both functional and future-ready

The Aboitiz Group workplace demonstrates how multiple business units can come together within a single environment while maintaining clarity, identity, and performance.

By balancing shared spaces with dedicated requirements, and structure with flexibility, the workplace supports both day-to-day operations and long-term growth reflecting a unified vision built on collaboration, purpose, and progress.
