project summary
Accenture, a leading global professional services company, assists the world’s foremost businesses, governments, and other organisations in building their digital core, optimising operations, accelerating revenue growth, and enhancing citizen services—creating tangible value at speed and scale. With approximately 750,000 people serving clients in over 120 countries, Accenture is a talent- and innovation-led company.
Paperspace Asia undertook the task of designing their office to achieve a cohesive Japanese-Filipino fusion, considering cost-effective specifications and materials. The aim was to create a space that feels homely, bright, and simple, yet encourages productivity, collaboration, and interaction within the office.

the challenge
The client required an office design with Japanese influences for the boardroom, meeting room, and secured bays area, and Filipino/Cebu aesthetics with a touch of Japanese design for common areas like the landing area, open collaboration areas, pantry, and hybrid rooms. Additionally, there were last-minute changes in requirements concerning headcount and the orientation of enclosed rooms. These adjustments presented a significant challenge, as it was necessary to ensure that the evolving needs did not compromise the overall design and functionality of the workspace.

the solution
Paperspace devised a future-proof plan with an open design and most enclosed rooms zoned along the building core. This allowed for flexibility in reconfiguring the layout to incorporate last-minute changes without sacrificing the overall design of the general work area. Workmanship was meticulously monitored to ensure proper implementation of the designs, and planning was done ahead of time to account for the possible long lead times of specified materials.
The office design features a Filipino/Cebu inspired landing area that also functions as a touchdown point for collaboration or casual interactions. The pendant lights, chairs, and accent walls are all designed with Rattan patterns. One of the highlights of the space is the logo, created with traditional Barong fabric, a long-sleeved formal shirt for men and a national dress of the Philippines, dyed in Accenture’s signature purple color.
The pantry area, intended for socialisation, showcases a blend of Japanese and Filipino designs. It opens to the training rooms, also known as hybrid rooms, which can serve as multipurpose areas for gatherings or events. The accent walls feature Japanese patterns, while the ceiling displays Rattan patterns.
The boardroom includes panelling with whiteboards inspired by Shogi panels, fostering a professional yet culturally nuanced environment. Collaboration spaces are strategically placed between production areas to facilitate team huddles, meetings, and breaks, with additional focus pods for focus work.
Paperspace successfully incorporated their last-minute changes without compromising the overall aesthetic and functionality of the office, creating a harmonious blend of Japanese and Filipino/Cebu design elements that cater to the needs of their diverse clientele.
